Frequently asked questions

Never done Reformer Pilates before? No worries at all — we’ve got you!

At Sabél Studios, we love welcoming first-timers. If you’re new to Reformer Pilates, we recommend starting with our Beginner classes — they’re the perfect introduction.

You’ll learn all about the reformer bed, how the springs work, and we’ll guide you through the key movements step-by-step, so you feel confident and supported from day one.

Bonus Tip: Arrive 10 minutes early to your first class so we can give you a quick studio tour and walk you through the equipment.

We also highly recommend booking in for a complimentary Pilates assessment – it’s a great way for us to understand your body, goals, and any areas you’d like to focus on, so we can help you get the most out of your sessions.

You’re in safe hands — and we can’t wait to help you fall in love with Reformer
Pilates

Do I have to start with a beginner class even though I go to the gym?

Yes, if you have never been on a reformer bed before we highly recommend booking into a beginner’s class to learn how the spring tension works and to get use to the moving carriage. Once you feel confident with the reformer machine and the Pilates language we use, you are welcome to move into our other class types, mix up your weekly Pilates!

What do I wear to class?

Please wear exercise clothes you feel the most comfortable in. Grippy socks are compulsory you can bring these with you, or we have socks for you to buy at the studio.

When can I come back to Pilates after giving birth?

You can come back to Pilates 6 – 12 weeks after giving birth depending on the type of birth you have had. Please consult with your doctor as we require clearance from
your doctor before you start.

Can I do Pilates with a previous injury?

Yes, our trainers are highly knowledgeable and will be able to cater and modify the exercises to best suit you and your injury. However, if the injury is in an acute stage, we recommend that you book an assessment with our chiro or physio to get clearance before coming to a group reformer class. We also offer a free 15 min Pilates assessment that can be booked with our Chiro, this will help establish the baseline of your strength and fitness therefore giving us informed direction on which classes to lead you to start with. If you’d like more of an extensive assessment, you can book an extended Pilates assessment – this will go through all your metrics by doing a Comprehensive balance and strength assessment to help you move safely and feel better.

What types of classes do you offer?

We offer women-only Reformer Pilates classes designed for all levels — from absolute beginners to seasoned movers. Our classes are intentionally small, so you get personal attention, expert guidance, and real results.

Can I put my membership on hold? How much does it cost?

Yes, you can, we charge a fee of $7 a week while your membership is on hold, your membership will pick up where you left off once you are back. Our hold periods are for two week minimum; they start on the day your memberships start each week.

What is your class cancellation policy?

We have an 8 hour cancellation policy, if you cancel your class inside of this time you will lose your class credit and charged an $8 fee.

What is our no show policy?

If you do not cancel out of your class in your app, even within the timeframe of the late cancellation period (8 Hrs), you will be marked as a No Show. This means you will forfeit your class credit as well as be charged a $8 fee. This is not to penalise our clients but to get our clients into the habit of cancelling every class they cannot make.

How can I contact the studio?

You can call the studio on 0420 737 373 or email hello@sabelstudios.com.au (please avoid messaging us on social media as these can be missed).

How do I book an Infrared Sauna?

You can book this via our Sabel Studios app. You don’t have to do Pilates to enjoy our Sauna! Buy your sauna credits in the app in the services section, press the tab, then go to the Sauna section to buy your sauna credits. We also sell Sauna Packs that are great value! The cancellation policy still stands for all sauna bookings, if you can no longer make a sauna session and its within the 8 hr booking time, please email your studio.

What do I wear and bring to my sauna session?

For your infrared sauna session at Sabél Studios, comfort is key. We recommend:

Swimwear – A bikini or one-piece is perfect
Light activewear or shorts & a crop/sports bra
Alternatively, go in a towel – We provide fresh towels if you’d rather relax that way (remember keep your underwear on)

The less you wear, the more effective the session — infrared heat works best with direct skin contact.

Don’t forget to bring a water bottle and arrive well-hydrated to make the most of your detox and recovery time. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask when you arrive — we’re always here to help!

What makes Sabél Studios different?

We’re not just a fitness studio — we’re a community. At Sabél, you’re not just a number. You’re known, supported, and celebrated — every step of your transformation.

We’re in the heart of Baulkham Hills with free and easy parking available on sight. The best way to access the parking is to come via Hill Street, drive up the driveway press 5 and we will let you in. On your way out you will need to press 567#
